An especially beautiful light in a pandemic…

So, here we are at Christmas, and if we can muddle through all the distractions, we remember and celebrate the birth of Jesus.

It’s the darkest time of the year, with December 21st, the shortest day of light in the year (at least in the Northern Hemisphere). Its commonly called the winter solstice and typically falls on the 21st or 22nd day of December, give or take a day or two.

“But God”…Some of the most beautiful words in all of scripture. But God… well He has given us a special blessing this year. You see, on the darkest day of the year….especially in this dark year that has included a global pandemic, He is giving us the brightest light. How amazingly cool and beautiful is that.

“For the first time in eight centuries, the two largest planets in the Solar System, Jupiter and Saturn, will look like a “double planet” in the night sky on Dec. 21, which is being referred to as the “Christmas Star,” as some astronomers believe a similar “conjunction” appeared that was called the “Star of Bethlehem” in the Nativity story.” https://www.christianpost.com/news/christmas-star-will-be-in-view-for-first-time-in-800-years-when-jupiter-saturn-align.html?fbclid=IwAR2dWyhVg0Y1AoWyG0PR-5qPgY2yD3bz7ymVuqN-L2kZ20nDBVBMGDnkiII

That actually kind of takes my breath away to think about. It’s just like Him, to meet us at our point of need, and give us a special gift when we need Him most. So, this Christmas, in the height of a pandemic, we need to just look up. Whether the weather cooperates or not, its up there… “The Star of Bethlehem” shining the brightest it has since March 1226.

“His breath filled all things with a living, breathing light-A light that thrives in the depths of darkness, blazes through the murky bottoms. It cannot and will not be quenched.” John 1: 4–5 (The Voice Translation)

Approximately 8,000,000 + breaths in a year- and it's all simply grace.
